Please note: The X95 Switchback Charging Handle does not fit the Tavor SAR or Tavor 7.

Please Note:  You may see some cosmetic burnishing of the polymer where the charging handle rides on the slot.  This is completely normal, will not harm the rifle, and also happens with the OEM charging handle.  If you are not comfortable with this cosmetic burnishing please do not purchase this product.

The X95 Switchback is a folding charging handle that will work on either side of the X95. It offers the lowest possible profile when folded but a good two finger grip when deployed. The handle is folded out by hand, pulled back comfortably, and then released. The force of the handle going forward will cause it to flip forward, i.e. “switch back” to the stowage position and lock there via a spring loaded detent and small tab on the handle.  A 45 degree front face allows you to sweep the hand back to “find” the handle and deploy and pull in one single, smooth motion.

The X95 Switchback is made in the USA of 6061 aluminum that is anodized black, and consists of a folding handle and lug with a steel rod, all of which are preassembled. The X95  Switchback not only can be mounted on either side of the X95 but with a small modification to the inner plastic gas cover it is possible to run two handles on the rifle at the same time.

The X95 Switchback will work with both the OEM forends (both 16″ and 13″ SBR length) and with the Manticore X95 Cantilever Forend.

At first I was skeptical on this “upgrade”. The main thing I didn’t like about the stock charging handle was it stuck out off the side like a towel hook in the bathroom. So I gave this a try. Wow its nice. Definitely awesome. I think its one of those things that might seem pointless to some but gold to others. It slipped into place with no problem.

Some folks also mention that they dont trust the roll pin hinge but after a few dozen pulls, I trust it.

One of the issues with the OEM charging handle is if you are up against a barricade then you can bump the charging handle slightly and it will actually disengage the rifle. This is in part with the design that utilizes the hammer head component that catches the top of the bar. The handle pivots as a lever to pop it out of the hammer head so you dont have a loose rod when charging it during reload and bottom button method.

With the switchback, it locks on the outside and is slim so there is much less chance to have this happen. The only thing to be concerned about is having the charging handle loose when hitting the release after reloading. I dont think anything would happen as its not specific. To the design of any charging handle, but you definitely want the handle to be forward all the way before hitting the release that slams the recoil mechanism and bolt forward.

This is a cool upgrade worth the money. Plus having the OEM as a backup is a nice piece of mind if you are taking the barrel off a lot
